VegCF First Monday Vegan Potluck

Please join us the first Monday of every month for a vegan potluck! Everyone is invited! This is a GREAT way to introduce your veg-curious friends to the delights of homemade vegan cuisine. Join us with a covered vegan dish in the community room (library) of the First Unitarian Church of Orlando. There is no cost if you take a dish, but we ask for a $10 donation if you do not take a dish.

Please take a complete ingredient list (and the recipe instructions if you care to share them), and please be sure that your dish is vegan (no animal products or byproducts). If you know what you plan to make, please list it in your RSVP, so we can plan for a good variety of food.

it was amazing.I am studying to become a health coach. here is my fb page https://www.facebook.com/SunshineWellness so I felt right at home. the people were so warm and friendly .. they took time to talk to me and find out what I was about. Its a great place to make friends, network. I found out about other groups I can get involved with. not to mention the food and the different flavors were delish.. especially the pumpkin stuffing.. I am in love. the miracle fruit testing experience was awesome!!

the people made you feel like you belonged. the group was very informative.. veg fest is coming up! so excited. I look forward to attending more meet ups and getting to know people even more.getting more involved with protecting our furry friends.

if you want to make friends, try some new food.. or just curious about what being vegan is about. I think you would really enjoy this group of people. wide range in ages too. try something new. step out.. I am so glad me and my friend went.

Glad you enjoyed it Charlene. I find all of the videos on NutritionFacts.org to be extremely helpful for understanding various health issues. It's fun to browse around the various topics that Dr. Greger has explored over the years.
Dr. Greger is a vegan himself, but as Rachael correctly points out, the various studies he cites might be testing non-vegan items.

Has the group ever used one of these potlucks as a service opportunity? I was thinking something along the lines of each of us bringing a vegan non-perishable food item to then donate to a food bank: http://www.foodbankcentralflorida.org/site/PageServer?pagename=AboutUs_OurPrograms_FoodDrives

Any group interest in doing this?
