Global Peace Film Festival

We are joining with the Global Peace Film Festival at the Winter Park Public Library to see The Invocation. The director, Emmanuel Itier, will be on hand to talk about the film and answer questions. Tickets for the film are $8.00 and can be purchased online or at the venue. This is a very special event that you won't want to miss!

Before the movie, we will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. at Austin's Coffee (929 W. Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park 32789) for dinner. Please indicate in your RSVP whether you will show up for dinner, for the movie, or both.

The Invocation
France, USA, 2010, 90 mins.
Director: Emmanuel Itier

'The Invocation' is a feature documentary about the notions of 'God' and “Peace” around the World and through Religion, Spirituality, Science, History, Politics and Arts. The goal is to show that looking for God leads to finding Mankind. It’s an invitation to elevate our school of thinking and change our code of acting with each other.

There are people who choose to believe, others who choose not to believe and others, like I, who chose not to choose in order to keep the exploration and the debate going. It's really ultimately a movie not geared at determining whether there is “a God', 'Being', 'Energy', or whatever the name given but to help people understand there is a need to go beyond our differences. It's a message of Peace, Unity and Connectivity. It is an urgent mission in view of the planet in bad health and the many sufferings of the world population.

Let yourself be enlightened by the wise points of views of leaders such as His Holiness The Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra, Desmond Tutu, Oliver Stone, Mark Walhberg, Stewart Copeland and so many more. Maybe at the end will we understand and accept that we are: One People, One Planet, One Universe and One Beyond.

Vegetarians of Central Florida will also have a booth at the Global Peace Film Festival Street Fair on Sunday, September 19 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

The overall message of peace was excellent, but it was a little too idealistic and religious for me. Also somewhat pricey. Still glad I went though.

I only attended dinner @ Austin's to honor Larry the b-day boy. I'm sure he would have loved the b-day gift I didn't bother getting him. 5 STARS!

It's a technicality! What the description says is "...wise POINTS OF VIEWS..." not necessarily that they will be in the movie. Any average Joe could portray the view of Marky Mark, or maybe he will have a stunt double. You never know how these dangerous these documentaries may be.
Can't wait this sounds like a great event. See you all tomorrow.

Of course he's not in the trailer. Do you think the New Age intelligentsia are going to swarm to see Marky Mark in a global peace documentary? I'm offended by his inclusion and will blunt my outrage at a wine bar instead. ;) BTW, hope everyone has a lovely time!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
