We are a small club of just over thirty members, from all across Ventura County, meeting for monthly rides. The rides are usually on the last Saturday of the month, with a few exceptions to holidays. The club formed as the need for a scooter club in Camarillo and surrounding areas grew. It was originally named "Camarollers S. C." and quickly changed to "Ventura County Ventures Scooter Crew", as the club was comprised of members from all over the county. It all started in October of 2008 with a brief ride to Port Hueneme and brunch, and is now just over a year old. There are currently no club dues or fees, although donations are always gleefully accepted to cover things like club patches, button-badges and stickers. All members receive club patches when they first meet with us for a ride. Our crew is largely made up of modern Vespa and Genuine Buddy riders, although there are a few vintage scoots and a few other makes riding in our pack. We welcome any new members who ride scooters- Vintage or modern.
Members should hold a California license or permit to ride a "motorcycle", and are always encouraged to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course or to watch the video on group riding here: http://camarollersscooterclub.blogspot.com/ We encourage all riders to wear DOT approved protective gear at all times during ride-outs. "ATG-ATT" All scooters should be at least 125cc, or able to ride at 40-45, 50, and sometimes even 55 miles per hour. We avoid freeways like the plague, and usually ride back country and surface roads.
