Speaker Series 3- "How my company leap-frogged with the help of funding partners".
Panel discussion with: Howard Hartenbaum - August Capital, Josh Kopelman - First Round Capital Mike Maples - Maples Investment Dave Strohm - Greylock
Moderator: Ravi Belani - Draper Fisher Jurvetson Is venture capital still the lifeblood of start-up companies? With so much conflicting advice on funding needs, this whole raising-money thing can seem a little like applying to college: Everyone has a different idea about what it takes to succeed. Is it as simple as a having a defendable technology or business model, paying customers, a proven team, a solid business plan and a clear exit strategy to garner interest from venture capitalists? What is the best route for you? Should you bootstrap to build personal equity in your venture or seek funding at an early stage? Come listen to the view points of successful institutional venture capitalists and angel investors. 6:00PM to 6:30PM - Registration and Networking 6:30PM to 7:45PM - Main Event 7:45PM to 8:30PM - Networking $35 Early Bird Registration by January 20 $50 Pre-Registration by January 26 Limited Seating. This event on Funding Strategy was the most informative and insightful. The HOT SEAT session where real entrepreneurs volunteered to be questioned candidly was fantastic, exciting, and engaging.

Ravi Belani was a great moderator. Panel had tons of expertise and wisdom. I personally learned a few great points from the panel which will significantly help my website SellandBuyAuto.com. I would strongly suggest to VLAB to try to lower the fee since majority of the entrepreneurs are on a shoe string budget and this is a non-profit organization. Perhaps, you could get rid of the banquet for next events.

Nevertheless, thanks for a great event.

Abysmal display of Sand Hill arrogance.

Due to an overwhelming demand from our 10,000+ member community, we've changed our location to our main venue at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Don't miss out on this esteemed panel.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
