Verge Bloomington at Crazy Horse!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday and a happy New Year! It's time to get back to the grind and continue building awesome startups and growing our tech scene. Verge Bloomington will be kicking off 2013 at the Crazy Horse!

Join us to start off your new year and celebrate 2 talented startups and hear from a fascinating young entrepreneur!

Our early stage startup this month will be Yarny, a mobile novel writing platform allowing writers to easily write, organize, and edit their drafts in the cloud. A product of local software development company Blue Burro, Yarny is integrated with a publishing platform letting authors share their work with others.

The late stage startup that will be joining us is RightRez. RightRez is a leading travel technology solutions company providing creative automation solutions for the cruise, marine/crew, and tour markets. They provide dynamic booking solutions, itinerary management tools, innovative re-shopping tools, and custom applications streamlining air department processes. RightRez powers many top cruise and tour operators driving down the costs of air travel while delivering consistent and accountable results.

We'll be sitting down with Logan Rush, a senior at IU majoring in finance and accounting. He is the owner of Millennial Services. They help web based companies implement off site digital support teams, specifically for processing customer service emails and live chats. He'll be chatting with us about how he made his connections and used his network to get going as well as how he works on growing his client base through his connections.

Just a heads up, if you are under 21 you are still welcome to join us! We'll be in the back room of the Crazy Horse! We'll see you then!

Wow, does Kacey Martin know how to throw herself a tech-themed birthday party ! We (I brought Christian, the programmer I work with who's visiting from Montana) had a chance to meet amazing people and see old friends, including my old pal Michael Burton who came with his team from RightRez. Chris' presentation was terrific, and showcased another great product with the B-town mark of excellence. It was also enjoyable to hear about all of Logan's great work. We got to hang out more with the guys from CoWork Bloomington and meet a few first timers like Christian, who I hope will be back. Katie, Jessica, Jeff, and of, course, Kacey, you guys are the best at keeping this community informed, nurtured, mentored, and challenged to push themselves to try something new. Thank you for helping me convince Christian this is a good place for him to relocate his business - he was amazed at the level of support and enthusiasm all of you bring. Cheers !

It was nice hearing about Yarny, the company started by Chris at Blue Burro, Inc. It seems like a great web app for novelists and I am eager to share this with my neighbor who publishes children's books. It was nice to meet Logan Rush and hear more about his companies and his plans for the future.
