Introduction

I am new to the area from Santa Monica, CA. I have a border collie who is still active. For over ten years we visited nursing homes and hospitals. I'm a writer and a teacher.

  • Hi Norrie, thanks for the nice note. My favorite is Twelfth night...although I like "The Merchant of Venice"...and the "Tempest"

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be a difficult moment for you. But I hope you will join us again soon. Literature is the best medicine I know for that kind of pain.

  • Such a pity not to have you at the Twelfth Night meetup. I have so many other great reads impatiently waiting to be discussed though, so see you in March?

  • Thanks Norrie. Yea the Koala is one tough creature, but super laid back... very observant, say like Shakespeare! Please set the date soon... my wits are being knocked about by boredom

  • Oh, I would have loved to see that! I saw Derek Jacobi play Prospero with the RSC (must have been back in the '80's ?!!?) and it was transcendent. I'm sure Dame Mirren would be as wonderful.

  • No, I just know that most plays have more men's parts & and there may not be enough women's parts to "go around"! I love The Tempest, and MSND and like that the otherworldly beings are not confined to human genders. The rustics in many of the plays could be either as well!
