Victoria BC Startups Message Board › Thinklandia events this week!
Hello meetup group friends -
We don't normally hit your inboxes with messages not directly related to our own meetups, but there are so many awesome (and FREE) events happening this week in the city as part of Thinkalandia that we're making a rare exception :). If you are into startups and entrepreneurship, then these are definitely worth checking out if you can. Details below!
Starting at 4pm you can check out this year's demo camp. We will have over 10 local companies providing demos of their latest products. You don't even have to RSVP; just get to Accelerate Tectoria (2659 Douglas Street, 2nd Floor) between 4pm and 5:30pm and you can walk the floor and see the demos. If you want to demo a product, contact Rob Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org
STEWART BUTTERFIELD – “IF I KNEW THEN WHAT I KNOW NOW.”
6pm at The Atrium (800 Yates Street)
I bet he learned a thing or two starting up Flickr and then selling it to Yahoo for a truck load of money. While the event is free, we need you to RSVP so we can make sure we don't disappoint people at the door. RSVP instructions below.
Starting at 10am, The team at EO (Entrepreneur's Organization) has stepped up and will have four local business leaders sharing their advice on turning your ideas into successful companies and products.
HOLY CRAP WE GOT ALEXIS OHANIAN
Headlining the afternoon, Alexis Ohanian (reddit, breadpig, & hipmunk) is going to stoke our brain-fires by discussing What We Can Learn From Startup Culture, and dazzle us with the details behind his newest projects.
GAME CHANGING IDEAS FOR VICTORIA
The day culminates with the VIATeC Pitch Pit, and good news! Submissions are wide-open to anyone who wants to be a game-changer. Deliver your pitch to the most engaged and entrepreneurially-minded crowd the city has ever assembled.
Have an idea that could change the city? Want to compete in the Pitch Pit? Apply at: http://www.thinklandi...
As you can imagine this event will be popular and seats are very limited. While the event is free, we need you to RSVP so we can make sure we don't disappoint people at the door.
