Victoria Club Tread AGM and Social

This event is an extraordinary Annual General Meeting scheduled as a result of not achieving a quorum of 20 at our previous attempt in November.  Members are urged to attend this event which is mandatory to fulfill our obligations under the Societies Act.  New members are encouraged to attend, as this is an opportunity to meet fellow hikers in a social setting.

The meeting will be called to order at 7.30 and elections will take place for the executive at that time.  Most executive members are willing to stand for re-election, leaving us with only two empty positions to fill should none of the incumbent positions be contested.  We need members to volunteer for the positions of vice-president and schedule editor.   We also need members to consider joining our social director as this job can be taken on by a team. 

Next comes "tea and goodies" during which time event coordinators will be encouraged to look at the next few months and propose new events to fill the schedule.  

After tea and goodies we will hear from the team currently administrating the Meetup experiment.  The membership will be encouraged to advise the executive on how they feel about Meetup, its benefits and drawbacks.  We will have "Meetup Tips" from our communications director, which might answer some questions and illuminate some of the finer points.  

We will also have a discussion and vote on the idea of reducing our membership fee from $30 to $25 and what that might mean for the Club.  To finish off the evening we will open the floor to members to make any other announcements about future events or ideas to make our Club even more wonderful!

We will aim to adjourn the meeting by 9.30pm.
