Off Lochside

This is a challenging route that will take us to a few interesting places off the Lochside Trail that we haven't explored yet. We will see what looks like the world's largest treehouse and a unique sloped bridge. The route then takes us to Glencoe Cove for a picnic lunch, weather permitting and then on to Ten Mile Point.

What the ride lacks in distance, it more than makes up for in vertical ascents. There are also a few short bits of trail where we will have to walk our bikes.

The preliminary route can be found on Ride With GPS.

This weekend, we have two rides planned, so if you're not particulary interested in hill climbs, the Smell The Roses Ride the day before may be more to your liking.

Standard Stuff. PLEASE VISIT THE LINKS!

• If this is your first ride with us, please print, sign and bring with you a copy of our waiver.

• Before attending a ride with Victoria Cycling Adventures I will complete the following two quizzes:  Cycling Safety Quiz and Meetup.com Procedures Quiz.

• By attending this ride, I declare that I have read, understood and agree to the contents of Victoria Cycling Adventures Waiver and Policies and Procedure

• For your safety we will break the ride into smaller groups while on busy roads. Please familiarize yourself with our Cycling procedures for large groups.

• In case of bad weather, we will reschedule this ride and substitute an Embrace The Rain Ride in its place. Hey - we live in a rain forest, its gonna rain! Let's learn to enjoy it. This will be a short ride in town with a stop to warm up and dry out. You will be informed of any changes to the ride by email no later than one hour before the scheduled departure time.

I had a great time on the Off Lochside route at the weekend - really enjoyable ride, great company, and the weather co-operated - yeh! Looking forward to seeing you again as soon as I can get another 'pass out!'. Thanks again for all that you do.

It was a very nice ride - lots of variety in the terrain and I liked the pace. Scenery was great too.

Another great ride from Jason to some places we would not usually see. 18 people signed up and 18 people showed up. Great company, great ride. The weather was pretty cooperative with hardly any rain until the last little bit when we were heading to the pub anyway. And we even had sunshine and blue skies for the lunch stop.

Another excellent ride exploring new routes - applause to Jason and Simon for mapping out a route with lots of enjoyable surprises (plus a hill or two :) ) - and the spring like weather a bonus. Apologies for my abrupt departure in Cadboro Bay - had planned on joining family event and realised I was late.

That went well! It was very thoughtful of the weather to cooperate. No headwinds at all an then sunshine just in time for our picnic.

What is the distance and what time we would be back. Picnic time?

The ride is about 45 km. Lunch should be around 12:15 (we may just stop at a place like the Cordova Bay Beach House if we don't have picnic weather) and I think the ride should be over by 3. Since the ride sticks pretty close to town, it's pretty easy to get back if you need to skip out early.

I wanted to come out for this ride, but I realize I'm double-booked. Sounds like a good one. Have fun!

I've added a description to the Off Lochside Ride. We have two rides planned for the December 1st weekend, this advanced ride and a Smell The Roses Ride, so please choose the one that's more to your liking or come along on both if you're up for the challenge!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
