Earth Hour

Participate in Earth Hour 2014

Earth Hour takes place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Earth Hour, an annual global event hosted by the World Wildlife Fund and supported provincially by BC Hydro, encourages individuals to show their support for the fight against climate change by turning out their lights.

We'll meet at Songhees Point and watch the lights go out at 8:30 pm then go for an hour's ride around downtown to see who is participating (and who isn't), arriving at Ship Point for the relighting of the Legislature at 9:30 pm.

Then we might go for a beer.

Yes, good call about the weather. It was pouring down a few moments ago!

Good call cancelling this ride. As much as I love riding in the rain (seriously), I am less enthusiastic about being run down thanks to poor visibility.

I was sooo looking forward to this, but the monsoons are once again upon us and I just don't have the wet weather gear.....if I'm not there on time, don't wait.....leave without me!

Nice idea! I love theme rides. I assume we'll leave our bike lights on :)

While we are riding - yes! Though we will dim them when appropriate to the occasion.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
