Embrace The Rain May 4th, 2014

Time to test that rain gear and practice your foul weather riding skills. We'll stay close to town so that we are never far from a warming cafe or pub or home if it is really miserable. Route to be determined by group concensus.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS9Qmgk4aR0 does leaving a youtube clip work? It's the raindrops scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid , he starts out singing, "don't ever hit your mother with a shovel, it leaves a dull impression on her mind…"

It is hard to believe that movie is 45 years old. And I saw it first run. So that makes me, um, 46, yeah, that's it.

I'm too tired to do anything else so I'm watching it for the first time.

Good thing about riding in the rain is that there usually isn't any wind, such was today. So we got a bit wet but not cold so we had a fun meander through Fairfield and Oak Bay and then the easy way up Mt. Tolmie and Simon's secret route to Rhodedendron Valhalla. Today seems to be peak day for blossoms in general. Really glad we "just did it". Thinking of renaming these rides "defy the rain".

It was a surprising and challenging ride up Mt. Tolmie in the rain. but the the rhododendrum nirvana at Playfair Park was a fabulous reward. Thanks for leading such an interesting ride, Simon. I'll be back for more good pain soon.
Thanks for the tips re bike positioning.

It was great! Thank you Simon, for the rainy ride to Rhodo Valhalla and up Mt Tolmie and down again. And all the little hidden connectors here and there. Thank you to Roy N for staying with me and helping me when my chain derailed. It was great to be with all of you. And the hot shower at home felt wonderful.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
