Discovery with currents

The moon's pull is strengthening and we should see considerable current on our paddle around Discovery, sometimes against us sometimes with us. It will likely be an interesting paddle. Not for beginners but those who would like to work a bit should check it out.

It was another great day on the water around Discovery. There were quite a few paddlers out and even thought the prediction called for a 7 foot change it was relatively calm. With just the two of us out Ron and I pushed the pace and had a great workout.

Thor and I had a wonderful paddle through the Chathams and over to Discovery. There was a fair bit of current out there but we certainly were ahead of the full force of the flood tide which made for an interesting yet comfortable paddle. We are so fortunate to live close to this wonderfully complex paddling environment. It continues to amaze me how few paddlers avail themselves of the challenges and possibilities that are right on our doorstep.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
