Paddle to Little D'arcy Island

Hey Crew,
We'll meet Monday morning at 10am at the government dock in Cordova Channel. We'll paddle to the south end of James Island and then head SE straight to Little Darcy Island. We can stop and have lunch on the island.

This paddle will be approximately 10 knots (a little under 20km) round trip. It has a crossing that is just under 3 knots. Every one on this paddle should have practiced a wet-exit and re-entry.

PS Here are directions to get to the dock
-Head north on Pat Bay hwy
-Right on Mt. Newton Cross Rd.
-Left on Lochside Dr.
-Right on James Island Rd.
-Drive to the end of James Island Rd. and you will come to the dock.

Well we didn't go to D'Arcy but we had a great paddle out around Trial and over to Discovery. Silky smooth seas mixed with a bit of current, a wow paddle!

I spoke with Ron and I think we're gonna go around Trial Island and then over to Discovery. We'll meet across the street from 550 Beach Dr. at 10am.
    See you there.

If you turn left on Arthur dr. just before you get to the dock, and drive 50 metre, there is beach access, and a way easier place to launch from.

Ian, I would be in for Discovery and maybe the Trial component too. If we did Trial as well then the launch would be at Pirate's cove (I think it's called) across from approx. 550 Beach. It's a great route. Also BTW as far as I know Little Darcy is all privately owned, while Darcy Island is all part of Gulf Islands Nat'l Park reserve.

Hey Brook & Evelyn! Great to see more folks getting on board.
Are you two stoked to go to Little D'arcy or would you be just as happy going to Discovery?
It looks like Ron & Paulo both want to do Discovery. I'm into that as well but do not want to re-neg on a paddle that I posted if Little D'arcy is what you were signing up to do.
If we do Discovery, we'll meet on the side of the road just north of Oak bay Marina at 10am.
Let me know what you'd like to do?

I am going there on Saturday, which is why I will not join you to Chatam on Sat. If it turns out that no one else goes, and you are interested in doing Discovery on Monday I would be interested. Can do skill development as well, fast paddle, slow, whatever.

Ron would also like to do Discovery via Trail Island on Monday. Little D'arcy isn't going anywhere so I'm fine with heading to Discovery again.

I would love to do this paddle sometime but am out of town for the long weekend. Looks like some great paddling days ahead though!

Aw :( I heard you guys can go quite fast. Is there any chance we can do an easier paddle for the less experienced?

Can you come to the paddle on Saturday? It's not nearly as far and finishes with a skills practice session which would be an excellent opportunity to do some more.
