The Living Poets Society

Come for an exploratory investigation into the world of poetry as we read our own original works and share the inspiring works of others! This group will be highly discussion driven, and focus on building techniques and learning together about this peculiar form of writing! We aim to help one another refine and encourage one another's practice by offering constructive feedback!

Next week's theme: First Lines and Titles

Focus on writing some work that really causes intrigue or helps set tone or description for the poem. Bring some examples you find and be prepared to share why you find them successful!

Anytime we meet, if you can have 4-5 copies of your poem to pass around and share with the group, that would be supreme! As most people have phones, a shared link to where it's hosted online could work also.

Feel free to bring a favourite tea or some snacks. Late comers welcome! Street parking available. No buzzer as of yet, you'll have to phone when you're here![masked] secondary:[masked]

Perhaps a weekly meet is too often. Maybe we could aim for once or twice a month? It would give members more time to write.

Hey guys! I despite my efforts there hasn't been too much interest this week, so I'm going to cancel tonights and print up some posters to put up around town to see if we can drum up some more people. Please help spread the word! People need not have any experience writing poetry! OR writing at all for that matter!

I'm new around here, but I'd like to get into this. Is it alright if I come? I can give you whatever contact info is required. I can bring a poem.
