Initial Meeting of the Victoria Creative Writing Critique Group

Hi Glen and all,

Reg. the first meetup of the writers group

We are still going through a recession so it isnt eveyone who has the funds to pay to meet every week or so.  I don't know which cafe Glen meant, but think he's on the right track, there has to be a quiet cafe somewhere that can be used. "We" used to hold a crit group in Serious Coffee as they have a free upstairs area. When we've all got to know eachother better, then perhaps one or two members would be interested in having the group meet in their home? The new home I'm moving into in June is small but I'm open to having members come when I'm settled in, as long as there isnt too many. Another things, do we really need to hold the meeting for 4 hours? I once knew about a place where its $30 for 2 hours, it might still be available. But for starving writers everwhere, free is best.

However, after reading another email a minute ago it seems Rachelle is throwing in the hat because some have accused her of making money out of this venture. How much does it cost to have a meetup group anyway? She at least must cover those costs.

Anyways, if anyone is interested in continuing this crit group for free in a cafe lets all put our heads together and make it happen. Down the line a-ways Rachelle could come and do workshops.

Just throwing ideas out there folks. Just my two penneth.

? un coeur vaillant, rien n'est impossible,
Dieu et mon droit,
Jessie

Hi Glen,

I am not available weeknights except Friday.  And of course they do not charge for tables.  They just expect people to buy something.
