Pick only one of these four words: Skipper (you will take people out in your boat), Crew (you have experience) or Novice (willing to learn).

Skipper

For non-skippers, describe your boating experience in order to assist skippers in choosing their crew. For skippers, explain your expectations from people on your boat.

I've sailed over 75,000 miles, including a circumnavigation of the Americas. Mostly on my own schooners. I've done some racing as crew (in Ireland, New York and Long Island Sound), but mostly I've skippered my own boats on cruises and expeditions.

List the boating activities that interest you (learning, teaching, recounting my travels, casual sailing, sailing races, motoring, overnight trips, long-range trips, etc.).

Daysails and weekend trips are all I have planned for the near future. In the longer term, I'd like to go back to South America, and to Japan, and I'm also thinking about another voyage to the ice.

Tell us about your boat if you have one (type, size, name, home port) or answer "none" otherwise.

I have a 15m steel staysail schooner with a lifting keel (a high-latitude expedition boat). Home port is Whitehorse, where I once lived.

Introduction

I sailed to Victoria from France and lived there for several months. After working in Vancouver for a while, I sailed to Patagonia & Antarctica and then back to New York.
