Slim to no expectations of crew. Brad had lots of power boating in my youth Cathy not so much. Brad has made the run down to and through the Panama Canal in 2005 from Victoria a 6 week education. We tell people we are graduating from the school of hard knocks with a degree in severe beatings lol. For example our mid July trip toward Comox that put us in 35knot winds on our stern that came up un expected for 6 hrs has left us with a huge confidence in ourselves our boat and RESPECT of the fast weather changes.
Our interest after 5 years on the water is to have some local boating companions to explore the Gulf Islands and areas with. Our sailing skills have a lot to be desired so we tend to power more than we should or need to. "plan to change that". Brad has done some major modifications to Silhouette to make trips that have lasted up to 2-3 weeks comfortable [some I like to brag about!] Some I just say we got the boat that way ;-? Casual outings and fair weather would describe us best, although the rocking of the boat and lapping of the water on the hull while @ anchor gives us such a sound sleep we really enjoy over staying over night on the boat. During summer we would love to have company join us up island to join our fleet/armada of long time friends that keep their boats in Comox- Moku-Lana and Berceau.
Our 27' Catalina Sail boat on our trailer 6 months of the year @ home but with our new Mooring block on the east side of Quadra Island and only 4 hrs to get on board from Victoria via Car and one ferry we can be in Desolation sound within 8 hours of leaving home rather than the 30 hrs from Sidney via the water.
Hi we are Brad and Cathy we have been together on the water since 2008 enjoying all our local waters have to offer us, we would like to meet up with other boaters on and off the waters to tell our tales and share. Boat winters on the hard 6 months.
amazing in the most wonderful ways great people and great entertainment. looking forward to more events.
