Speaker Susan Low

As CEO/founder of Directis  Consulting Group, Susan has  worked for the past 10 years to  help small businesses and non-  profit organizations become  more effective through strategic  planning and management best  practices. Susan and Directis  received the 2011 Outstanding  Customer Service Award from the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce. Having grown a successful business and started a family, Susan is venturing into the next adventure of her life by running for MLA with the Green Party in May this year.

Susan Low visited Iceland from November 5-9 to ask questions of a wide range of Icelandic people, from the Minister of Education, Science and Culture to the fishermen at the docks. Susan brings back stories and lessons for us to translate into real action here in British Columbia.

Why Iceland?  They jailed their bankers, they rewrote their constitution using internet submissions from citizens, and they have the highest use of geothermal energy in the world. What can we learn from Iceland and put to use here in BC to reform our democracy, reclaim our economy and build renewable energy for the future?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
