What makes the perfect cup of tea?

Technically, I'm supposed to say something about quantity of tea, temperature of water and steeping time. Water and tea quality make a huge difference too. Beautiful teaware and a pleasant setting contribute to the experience. But tea made with good intentions is the most important factor to me. I'd rather drink "poorly made tea" that's made with good intentions in friendly company than anything else.

What is your favorite scone?

Orange currant cream scones. Real scones, not biscuits shaped like scones.

What is the most interesting Tea Tramp you have been on? A Tea Tramp is a visit to a wonderful tea house with friends.

My own San Francisco Bay Area Tea Professionals day tour was really great, if I may say so. Kulov's Annual Tea Lovers Festival in Culver City was great this year. Disclaimer: I was Assistant Producer. The next best was my trip to see the Steeped in Time exhibit at UCLA which I followed up with a trip to American Tea Room.

I founded Long Beach Tea, Los Angeles Tea, San Diego Tea, Santa Barbara Tea and San Francisco Tea on Meetup. The groups help people learn about tea, create community through tea and support local tea businesses. I am a Certified Tea Specialist.
