Video University is the learning arm of Miracle Productions. The purpose is to combine experienced filmmakers with individuals that want to learn how to make films.
Miracle Productions works mainy with non-profits and some no budget productions. We furnish volunteer crews and filming equipment. We are also producing a new video magazine titled "All About..." which will be initially aired on bay area community TV stations and streamed over the internet. The goal is to broadcast on PBS.
We take experienced crew members, writers, directors and producers and team them up with students when we film. The mentors teach the students, and at some point the student becomes the teacher.
The only requirement of the students are the desire and commitment to learn. We will be operating as a network, CBN (Community Broadcast Network) with many of the same functions as a regular network except there is no pay. We will issue press passes, create independent segment producers, with their own reporters and crew. They will be creating segments all over the bay area to be assembled into the monthly (then weekly) program filmed at channel 15 in San Jose.
If you have always wondered how films are made and what it would be like to work on a project, this group is the place to start. There's no money involved. You don't pay and you don't get paid. You get screen credit and the opportunity to have a great time. You'll also learn.
Most meetings and training sessions not held on location will be held at public library meeting rooms since they are free. You may also want to work with your local community station if available (San Jose, Mountain View, Santa Cruz, Gilroy, Berkeley, Richmond, Pacifica, Petaluma).
If you have an interest in filmmaking, join the group and let's get started.
