:: About Open House at SWC

Every first Wednesday of the month Semantic Web Company invites to its office at Mariahilfer Straße 70/8, 1070 Vienna. Having some refreshments, some finger food and a bunch of interesting people around. This "come together" is to speculate on the future of the internet, to exchange ideas and thoughts, or simply to have a nice chat with interesting people. Our Open House is about people and ideas.

:: FedEx Day

Following the slogan "release your inner geek" Semantic Web Company's employees are encouraged to work on own private projects on special reserved days. This dedicated 1 and 1/2 FedEx Days happen every 6 month. Our first FedEx Event in spring brought nine excellent ideas to daylight. This Open House is the time, to get the story, what it was the last month.

The International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC) defines digital standards for the media. Its latest standard, rNews, is a model for embedding machine-readable metadata in Web documents. Three power users and pro-motors of this specification, Evan Sandhaus (NYT), Andreas Gebhard (Getty Images) und Stuart Myles (Associated Press) are reporting together with Marco Neumann - who is conected remotly from New York - about this initiative which brings semantics to the content industry.
