Trail Details

This rail follows the old Pumkinevine RR route. The complete trail runs from Abshire Park in Goshen through Middlebury to downtown Shipshiwanna. This ride will round trip be the Middlebury to Abshire Park section of the trail. The round trip is about 10 miles, but you can shorten your ride by turning around at any point. The trail takes you through the Indiana countryside going over streams, through wooded areas and past farms. A 1.2 mile part of the trail is on county road. Most of the trail is paved with the section entering Goshen hard pack stone (suitable for road tires). For more details on the Pumkinvine Nature Trail visit their website.

About Margarita's

Small family owned, they serve a nice variety of authentic Mexican dishes priced from $5-13. Also offered are Mexican beers plus a few domestics, Margaritas and Sangrias. I thought the food was quite good.

I agree, it was a perfect day for a ride. Not too hot, not too cold, no headwinds, plenty of shade, and only a few others on the trail. Too bad so few were able to participate.

While the round trip is 16.4 there is no requirement to go all the way to Abshire park. I may not make it all the way. This will be my first ride this year. Also, doing the ride on Saturday because Middlebury is a very conservative community and is pretty much closed down on Sunday.

Yes. We will be round tripping the section of the trail between Middlebury and Abshire Park in Goshen. following the ride, anyone interested can meet (location to be determined) for snack and beverage. I'll post the location as soon as I scout a few possibilities.
