Viking's Boyne Highlands Ski Trip with ISC to Boyne Highlands

This has been a great tradition for Vikings to meet other Indiana Ski Clubs through the ISC. This is a fun weekend if you are racing or observing. We ski race for about 2 hours on Saturday with the rest of the weekend touring either at Boyne Highlands both Saturday or Sunday or Sunday Skiing at Boyne Mountain. This is a drive up so buddy up with another car and enjoy the beauty of Michigan the way up and back!

The complimentry Beverages Hot Tub (Pool) is incredible see pictures from last year with Wine, Pop & Micobrews in an out door 100 degree water.

Family Trip & Race Weekend
February 8 - 10, 2013(sbmrecvd 10/2/12)

This season our annual ISC weekend will be at Boyne Highlands near Petoskey, Michigan. This will be an exciting weekend of racing and fun for families and friends in one of Michigan’s Premier Ski Resorts. Your ski club will be defending their honor against other Indiana ski clubs in this low key racing environment. Come and participate in racing with 4 levels (Beginner through Advance) or cheer on your club’s racers. Accommodations will be at the Bartley House at Boyne Highlands with our own hot tub/ pool area. Some clubs will be arranging bus trips while others will drive up together.

This weekend will include Friday and Saturday night lodging, weekend lift ticket, 2 breakfasts and Saturday Night Banquet Dinner. Lift tickets are good for Friday 4:30-9PM, Saturday 9AM-9PM & Sunday 9AM-4PM.

Weekend Package Rates:
• 2 adults per room = $290 per person
• Additional adults in room = $170 per person
• Children 16 and above fall into the adult rate
• Children 9 to 15 years old with 2 adults per room = $150
• Children 8 years old and younger receive free lodging and lift tickets with 2 adults in room. (No meals)
• Ages 70 and over receive a $48.00 weekend discount

Additional Fun Possible: NASTAR National Handicap Racing Saturday & Sunday at 1 PM. Boyne offers dogsled rides and horse drawn sleigh rides. Tubing park, skier cross course and cross country skiing are also available. You can also stop on your way up or back at Boyne Mountain to ski with the same weekend lift pass. Avalanche Bay Indoor Water Park is also a fun alternative at Boyne Mountain. More info at:

Recommended Tentative Itinerary:

Friday – Check in at the Main Lodge. Some skiers arrive early so they can enjoy skiing after 4:30 PM.

Saturday- Breakfast and register per your age and category for racing by 9AM if you have not already registered ($5 per person). Please provide your NASTAR Number along with your age (this will assist the race workers and allow you to gain NASTAR points). A Dual Giant Slalom course will be set. Your accumulated combined fastest time per course will determine your position within class based on age and skill level. The points accumulated from this racing will go towards the ISC championship & Robert Burns Memorial Club Award. Join the complimentary ISC Ski Après outdoor party with snacks and beverages including Micro Brews on tap at 5PM at the heated pool after skiing. The Banquet Dinner with awards will be held at 7PM in the Main Lodge with live music afterwards at the Main Lodge Bar.

Racing Categories: (you will be broken up into ability, age and gender brackets)
A Class Expert ski racer best of 2 runs on both courses
B Class Advance ski racer best of 2 runs on both courses
C Class Intermediate ski racer best of 2 runs on both courses
D Class First time ski racer best of 2 runs on both courses

Sunday – Breakfast, return to the slopes for a fun day of skiing with your friends and family.

A $100 deposit per person (or full payment) by November 15, 2012, with remainder due before January 1, 2013. The date the deposit is received (first come - first serve) will determine where your lodging will be. Please make checks out to Indiana Ski Council and provide a rooming list of occupants and ages of any children.
