Vim even when you aren't coding & vimrc show-and-tell

Vim Even When You Aren't Coding

Ever wanted to use vim for more than just code? Let's talk about settings and features that help make vim a great place to write blog posts, emails, journal entries or whatever else you need to write.

vimrc Show-and-Tell

Have a nifty trick or essential setting in your vimrc? What is the first thing you miss when your vimrc is not around? Come tell us! Pick out your favorite setting and show it to the group.

Pizza at 6, talks at 6:30, beer all night.

PS. Both of these ideas shamelessly borrowed from the Boston vim meetup. So thanks for the inspiration, Boston!

It was informative and fun. Saw everyone's customizations while discussing various workflow techniques. Aaron had a really over the top Unicode/UTF-8 modification which was really interesting.

Hey everyone! I want to make sure we can do the "show" part of our "show and tell" tonight. For those participating, please:

    1) Bring your mac (or HDMI whatever). We'll put you on the big screen.

    - or -

    2) Gist your vimrc and send me a link at [masked]. I'll pull it up so you can explain it to us.

    Thanks, see you tonight!
