Free Tix to the SF Art Fair this weekend

Our wine picnic and SF Fine Art Fair outing has generated no interest, as has asking friends to "like" our Facebook page (one member scolded me for engaging in spam)

So let me try another tact: using an enticement to promote another or our meetup programs.

I will provide a free ticket to the Ft Mason Art Fair worth $20 at the door for each person, incl. one for each guest you bring, who signs up by tonorrow at noon for our fantastic program on Memorial Day weekend: touring and taking in a special exhibit at the Old Mint--which is never open to the public-- followed by a wine and food tasting reception which is never open to the public. The ticket can be sent by email and allows one to attend on any of the three days, though we would encourage you to meetup with us on Sat. afternoon minus the picnic.

Announcing a new Meetup for PAIRINGS: Wine, Art and more!

What: Special Exhibit in the Old Mint Followed by Wine Reception

When: Sunday, May 30,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $25.00 / 45.00 with guest

Where:
The Old Mint Building
88 Fifth Street (at Mission) SF, CA 94103
San Francisco, CA 94103

The Old Mint, which dates back 1874, was turned over to the City by the U.S. Treasury in 2003 and has been used only sporadically for private events. It is now being temporarily opened for a unique exhibit.

This is a rare chance to gain access to the Mint's gorgeous and ornate interior .

FROM EARTH TO 5-STAR:
The Bay Area?s Innovations in Farming and Food

The exhibit features many of the Bay Area?s most important food and drink innovations, including the development of organic standards, the connections between producer and diner, and innovative approaches to ethnic and regional cuisine.

Eight exhibit galleries will explore two important trends:

1. Restoring the Past: How we are reviving practices from the past because they are the right solutions for growing and preparing our food today.

2. Modern Innovations: How we are changing the way we eat and drink for the better.

A timeline of innovations will link these galleries together, giving visitors the big picture of where we?ve been, where we are today, and how today?s innovations are linked to the past.

A ?Predictions Gallery? will feature cutting-edge trends in food and cuisine with contributions from chefs, producers, growers, food writers, and foodies.

Afterward we will walk down a block to the Metreon where another exhibit, Envrionmental Journey, showcases the aerial photography of Robert Cameron who died in November at 98. Some of you saw this display in December, many have not. In either case we will be pouring special wines which you can bid on to support The Mint Project (see below).

1 PM: Building tour
2PM: Presentation on Growing Food in Small Spaces with Lora Kellner, Sloat Garden
3:30 PM: Reception and winetasting at the Robert Cameron Pop Up Gallery

Cost: $25/$45 for two/ $60 for three. Includes $10 admission to Mint exhibit.

Those who Pay in advance up to tomorrow 5/21 @ noon will receive a free ticket for themselves and each guest, worth $20, to the SF Fine Art Fair happening this weekend at Ft. Mason

The Mint Project will fill a gap in the city's cultural landscape and give the Bay Area a truly innovative 21st century learning center dedicated to its people, achievements and global impact.

The Mint Project will create a new kind of cultural attraction that integrates dynamic exhibits on the history of the region with an interpretative visitor center and rotating cultural retail from the region.

The Vision...
~Honor the Men and Women who made San Francisco and the Bay Area what it is today
~Makes history meaningful by connecting the value and relevance of history with our daily lives
~Establish the Mint as a Gateway to the city and region providing an orientation to the Bay Area's rich cultural heritage
~Invite all to contribute and share their own perspectives and stories
