Tired of getting dragged to steakhouses and settling for salads? Does everyone know you as the one that eats all the veggies or chips and salsa at barbecues, when there's nothing else to eat? While everyone else oohs and ahhs over a turkey dinner, do you poke at your overcooked yams and dream of a tastier, more satisfying feast that celebrates the holidays?

We may have little choice but to live and socialize among meat-eating family members and friends, often at the expense of our own taste preferences. However, we need not be alone!

The goal of this group is to bring together vegetarians, vegans, and the veg-curious in southern New Jersey for social events. We can get together regularly at local veggie-friendly restaurants and schedule pot-lucks, or organize trips to Philadelphia restaurants. In addition, we can exchange recipes and ideas about nutrition, fitness, animal-friendly products, and events.

"Hello. I consider myself a 'part-time' vegetarian because I love vegetables but I still eat fish and poultry. I look forward to learning more about the food choices for vegetarian and vegan diets as I want to stay healthy."
