Inspiring and empowering people to live a more self sufficient, sustainable, economic, and meaningful life.
Inspire and Empower
As the league grows, we all learn and grow as well. Teaching each other how to be more self sufficient. Teaching things like urban gardening, canning and preserving food, building solar panels, making cleaning products, growing medicinal herbs, composting, ridding our lives of paper products etc. Skill shares and workshops are different. A skill share will be a 10-15 minute demo given at the market stand in front of a small group. Workshops will be on location and more in depth. Either way, this will be an integral part of the league. The more self sufficient we are, the less we rely on mainstream means. In turn we lessen our impact on the earth.
Support our local Economy
The idea is to pool together everyone local who has a skill, service or products they would like to sell, barter, trade, or share. The things we can not do or make for ourselves we gladly get from our local merchants. Having all of these resources together in one place allows us all to be more efficient and economical. And not dollar store economic…….homegrown economic!
Spread the word
We teach and encourage others to do the same. Teach your friends and family and your children that where we buy our goods and services has an impact. That impact can be positive or negative. The choice is ours. In many aspects of our lives, we need to go backwards. Move away from the global commerce that we’ve been taught is best and back to a local economy. We want to KNOW who grew our food. We want to shake hands with the people who make our lives safer, easier and more pleasurable. We want to build relationships with folks who care about and support our local homegrown economy. We hope you do too.
