    Welcome back from Caribbean Bob!

While you were away some of your students asked about how & when they'd be refunded their unused portion of fee paid for the 6-Module Winter Series of Sailing Classes described in this post.

I guess I was asked because they saw me working with you on parts of your class announcement & setting-up this post's "Pay" button at the time

Since it didn't work-out for you to run all six of the sessions announced here, I assume you'll want to do prorated refunds for those who paid $50 upfront. Yes?

If so, would you like my help processing the e-Refunds? I'm versed in how to do this in MeetUp's online system & happy to facilitate it on your say-so

But if cash paid, refund needs to be cash too. If paid online the refund is quick & simple, but only the site owner can perform it. Refunds might be a new procedure for Andrew (?)

If he wants to learn how to do it (or other unfamiliar tasks in MeetUp's online acct) he can always ask by mailing [masked]

I'll take a hands-on class over Skype class ANY DAY! Looking forward to it this summer, so no refund needed here.

I'll be boating on shambala in Portland. Would like refund.

Thanks to Terri and Stephanie for their hard work in making the class accessible to those that could not attend through skype, and for helping with keeping things on track.

Really enjoyed meeting new people with and without boating skills. Very friendly group. Looking forward to next month.

I'm recovering from a nasty stomach bug so will attend via Skype rather than in person. I'm having trouble with the PayPal link but will keep working on it.

    Katherine,
I would be happy to put an order in for you if you like. Also just to clarify the $10 for this class is separate from the VYC dues of $10 per year. It looks like that may have been your question. Look forward to meeting you!

Hi claudia thanks again for ordering for me. Can you order me a tuckaway burger medium well with american cheese. fries are okay with me and a water. So i pay 20 or 10 for each of them?

      1 · January 6, 2014

    • Claudia O

      Hi Katie,

The "pay" link is on the right side of this event across from the "PRICE $10.00"

If you can please pay the membership dues on the main website on the left of $10 before attending the class as it open only to dues paying members.

Both are through PayPal. For ordering your food. No problem...will do! I will have a separate check for you when you come if that's OK. I will send you my personally cell# just in case.

We understand you are working and want you to join us. Most important is we are happy to have you come to the class as education is important!

IMPORTANT!: If you are planning on participating virtually vs. in-person (it is my understanding that those details are being ironed out, e.g. Skype) please email me at [masked] for a copy of the test that Bob will have the group working on at the end of sessions 1 & 2. I will bring hard copy to the class but can email the file to those joining via conference call. Thank you.

Could someone post information or a link to make payment for the sailing classes. Thanks !

Just got your message. I've been straight out with work and snowblowing. Google Hangout only works with iphones and androids but it requires those using it to buy the app. On the computer, you have to have Chrome downloaded. Skype can have group calls of up to 25 people. That's fine for listening in, but I don't think they have web conference capabilities. Googling it now. I will ask around to see if skype is the only/best option

can you pay at the nite of the class

    January 2, 2014

It would be a lot easier if you can do both the class fee and the dues online

Too hard for me to attend on a weekday as it is a two hour drive for me if we're talking around Dover or New Castle. Would be cool if we could Skype or something...

I have a headset and could bring a 2 machines (a netbook and a laptop), both of which have Skype on them. If you wanted a third laptop for some reason (so people at various seats at the table can view/hear participants/speakers?) I can get that from my office. I have a Google Hangout account. Bob I know is creating a Skype account. I cannot though assume full responsibility in terms of tech support and set-up as it is not my strong suit and have limited time constraints re professional responsibilities and elder care. In short, I can gladly bring some equipment which may or not do the job. The room I know has wi-fi access. Can anyone step up to be the tech coordinator?

      January 2, 2014

    • Stephanie H.

I have been informed that Bob now has a Skype account. His username is Bob.Janson4 If anyone thinks Skype is a viable option for this conference call (I am not 100% sure) chime in. Thanks--

I'm a little slow on computers but I can not find the 15 pages you want for me to down load ,can you help

    December 26, 2013

    • Bob J.

Hi Cory, Go to top of page clear it, and put navcen.uscg.gov?pagename=navrulescontent. If they dump you on the nav center page look for nav rules on the heading. Computers, don't you love them!

I was assuming the class would be in the Raymond area which is an hour east of me. Any further away and I may not be able to make it. I won't be there on Sunday but hope to be at the class in January.

Hope to seeing you at party.VYC is your club & what we make it collectively. Education & sharing sailing experiences is what we are all about. It was a fun season. I look forward to us getting to know each other better & having more fun together in the future. I really want to hear your thoughts about the upcoming sailing class and hope you will give your comments Sunday. Lets keep learning together and make the class & club work for you. Call or write, I hope to get your input soon. Happy Holidays

    Bob,
What region are you thinking about having the classes? Up on North Shore or NH? Or down on South Shore closer to Scituate? I know that'll depend on who RSVP's, but that will dictate whether I can attend or not.
