Local Lunch Box
Experience the world of nutritious, healthy and fun food choices from the farmer’s market. Portland Farmers Market (PFM) will be holding a "Local Lunch Box" event from 10am-12pm on August 30th at the King Market. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a market scavenger hunt, cook simple kid-friendly recipes, play nutrition bingo, create vegetable poetry, and make a one-of-a-kind lunchbox to take home and fill with local, peak-season foods.
Featured guest chef/author/activist Bryant Terry will get the kids cooking with a recipe from his latest cookbook, Vegan Soul Kitchen. For more information and to RSVP for the event, visit the PFM Website or call 503.241.0032.

To clarify the organizer listed for this meet, "veganlicious" is kind of confusing for a few people. The account is a facilitator (but not a real person) so we could post more community related events without feeling like we totally had to attend... Often we hear about or are asked to post events we think the community might enjoy and we want to give others a chance to check out and enjoy these great events, get to hang with members of the VLV, setup ride shares, and generally feel like they belong and see who they know will be at the event (or make new friends).
We hope you don't mind; the organizer and other assistant organizers still organize the group and are the ones to contact for more information or with questions, we just use "veganlicious" as a facilitator account for posting community events that we may or may not be able to attend personally. If you want to meet up with others who RSVP for the event then email each other via the contact tools on their pages (and/or leave a note on the event expressing your wish).
We hope it's all cool and we can enjoy the really active and fun community we live in.
