Wanda Abioto, the chef owner of Portland's newest raw/vegan restaurant is opening her new Green Lady Cafe this evening for a special dinner between showings of Forks Over Knives premiering at the Fox Tower.
Shows at 5:00 pm and 7:20, dinner served between 6:30 and 8:30.
It's a short hike from Fox tower to the Green Lady Cafe, where Wanda and her talented daughters are creating this generous dinner just for us for only $15, featuring dishes not normally on her cafe menu.
- pear-infused rejuvalac (both wheatberry & gluten-free quinoa)
- red curry soup
- mixed greens
- tomato with cashew cheese
- sprouted quinoa
- southern un'cookin pie 'n ice cream
Not positive yet on the gluten-free status of this meal but will update when it's clearer. Wanda is originally from Mississippi and more recently from Tennessee so has a new take on raw food that is different from the Portland flavor (and we do have one).
UPDATE: The official word is that other than the rejuvelac (which there will be both wheatberry and gluten-free quinoa versions available) the menu is gluten-free.
This meetup is only official for the meal. People are free to go before or after dinner to the movie (or not at all but it's a great show so do go). If you are going to the movie please specify in the RSVP which showing so others might join you (if you wish). This meetup is also in conjunction with an event on Living Raw in Portland.
The Green Lady Cafe is on Washington Street at 10th Avenue two blocks south of Powell's Bookstore on Burnside and two blocks north of the main library.
