  • Meet out front of Jeld Wen...
  • Hi there. Someone reached out to me regarding helping out at Timbers and Thorns games. Specifically they need help on March 16th from 9:30am-1:30pm and on April 5th from 9:30am-1:30pm. I am unable to host the March 16th event, but can host the April 5th event. Here are details about what we will be doing and who it will benefit.

Thank you for choosing to be a part of the Timbers 50/50 Raffle! This is a HUGE fundraising opportunity for us. With your help, we will raise thousands of dollars that will go directly back to the youth in our community for afterschool soccer and basketball programming. AC Portland must provide 15 ticket sellers for each game to sell raffle tickets around the stadium and at the 50/50 Kiosk. Sales begin 2.5 hours prior to the start of the game. Top sellers and returning volunteers will be rewarded!

AC Portland supplies the tools to empower students to lead healthy lives, succeed academically and inspire positive community engagement through youth soccer and basketball. If you'd like more information about AC Portland, check out our website: http://acportland.org

Thank you for helping transform lives! We couldn't do it without you!

Even if you can't make this meetup event, I would encourage you to sign up for another time.

Hope to see you on April 5th!

I don't understand how this is a fundraiser for veganism. Am I missing something?

It's not a fundraiser for veganism. It's an opportunity to volunteer in the community. We post all sorts of events in this group that aren't directly addressing veganism- hikes, book clubs, volunteering. We try to post a variety of activities to get people engaged and building community with one another.

Humans are animals and helping fellow humans is part of being vegan, so this can be considered a fundraiser for veganism. Getting involved in helping the human community and letting that community know we are doing so as vegans helps promote veganism and give vegans a positive image. It may be beneficial if we donated synthetic, vegan, soccer balls :) (no, I don't have the cash to buy those)...Jason

we will be mostly volunteering during the entire game, but there will be chances to take breaks and check out what is going on, including catching the last 10 minutes or so of it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
