NW Veg Presents: Vancouver Potluck

Thursday, March 27, Potluck 6:30 pm, Talk/Demo 7:30 pm, at the Clark Public Utilities Service Center, 1200 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, WA 98663 (note change in location)

Join us for a delicious potluck followed by a tasty cooking demo by Chef and Author Julie Hasson! Julie is the author of Vegan Pizza, as well as 8 other cookbooks (with another one coming out this year). She has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, including serving as a private chef for celebrities and high-profile clients, is the founder and former owner of the legendary Portland food cart Native Bowl and has recently come out with a new line of amazing cake mixes, Julie's Originals. Julie will be showing us how to make her Easy Peasy Pizza Dough from Vegan Pizza and then delight our taste buds with a fun demo and sampling of her famous pina colada cake using one of her new cake mix. There will also be books for sale and time to meet Julie and get your cook books signed. Remember, you are welcome to come to just the potluck, the food demo, or both!

Lots of good food choices, and great group of people. I did not stay for presentation, but I know Julie is always good to hear.

I knew it would be good...and sugary. She does a good job with taste. But being sugar zero is just too rewarding. I know that sounds crazy, but it's true.

Are people making dishes for this potluck? Will there be bowls and utensils? How many servings should I make?

Hi Sophia, I'm not one of the event organizers, but here's what's been posted at the end of the last two Vancouver potluck invitations. I think someone just forgot to add this part this time: "For the potluck, please bring a plant-based (no animal products, including honey) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use. Need plant-based ideas? Click here. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4-6; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your party/family. Northwest VEG potlucks are alcohol-free events. For more information email [masked]. A donation of $2-5 is suggested to help cover the cost of the room rental."
