NW Veg's Vegan Potluck: Westside

Join us for a delicious potluck followed by an informative presentation by Andy Fisher, a federal food policy advocate, entitled: What is federal food and farm policy doing to support a sustainable plant-based diet?

Andy Fisher was the co-founder and former executive director of the Community Food Security Coalition. For over 17 years Andy worked with the CFSC to spearhead the development of a national food and farming movement centered on connecting farmers and consumers and improving access to healthy foods in low-income communities. Andy is a leading expert in the field of food security and has co-authored numerous articles and studies on the topic. He has been a Food and Society Policy Fellow with Kellogg Foundation and holds graduate degrees from UCLA in Environmental Policy and Latin American Studies. Andy currently serves on the Board of Directors for Portland Farmers Market, is a contributing writer for Civil Eats and is in the process of writing a book on anti-hunger. The potluck will be held at the West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 8470 SW Oleson Rd., Portland. Come to the potluck at 5:00pm, the presentation at 6:30pm, or both!

Please bring a plant-based (no animal products, including honey) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use. Need plant-based ideas? Click here. If you come alone, figure the amount to serve 4–6 generously; increase the amount 4 servings for each additional person in your party/family. Northwest VEG potlucks are alcohol-free events. For more information email [masked].
