Join us for a delicious potluck followed by hearing the incredible and inspirational story of author and Holocaust survivor Alter Wiener.
Mr. Wiener was born in October of 1926 in Chrzanów, Poland. He lived a quiet and traditional life with his family in Chrzanów until at a young age he was deported from his home by Nazi officers in the middle of the night. Mr. Wiener was then enslaved for three years in five forced labor and concentration camps. When liberated, Mr. Weiner weighed eighty pounds and was burdened with many health issues. He is the only survivor of his immediate family and lost almost his entire extended family in the Holocaust as well. He credits his adoption of a vegetarian diet for bringing him back to health.
Come to the potluck at 5:00pm, the presentation at 6:30pm, or both!
For the potluck, please bring a plant-based (no animal products, including honey) main dish, salad, or dessert; a card listing its ingredients; and plates and utensils for your use.
