Work Party at Green Acres Farm Sanctuary

**NOTE: I am changing the meetup location to the parking lot of the Claim Jumper restaurant. Why? Because coordinating carpools is too unwieldy. The Claim Jumper is right by the Clackamas Town Center Transit Center, so we can all get to it, and it's right by I-205. Green Acres is about an hour's drive from this location. Let's try to gather on the side closest to the Clackamas Town Center MAX stop, near the grass/trees. If you can drive, please drive, and if you can't drive, we will find you a spot. It looks like we'll have plenty of drivers. Also, if you plan to ride with someone else, please bring them a few bucks for gas money, and please don't wait for them to ask for it, just offer it. This is good carpool etiquette. Please leave plenty of time to get there as we need to leave right at 9am to get to Green Acres on time and therefore we can't wait for anyone.** The event ending time includes the time to get back to the Portland area.

Tina at Green Acres could use some extra help this month, so let's head down to Silverton for a work party! The work party starts at 10am, so give yourself plenty of time to get there. We often help with cleaning, mending fences, clearing brush, and all sorts of other things at work parties. Wear clothes that can get dirty, be prepared for mud, and bring a change of shoes if you are carpooling.

I do not have a car but can rent a Zipcar if 3 other people want to split one. When you RSVP, please comment IN YOUR RSVP if you can drive and how many people you can take, or if you need a ride. I'll email drivers and passengers to coordinate closer to the date. Please do NOT coordinate rides in the comments section below - this is one of my pet peeves as it results in a lot of inbox spam for people.

Tina is counting on our help, so please don't sign up if you aren't sure you can make it. Obviously things come up that are beyond our control, but please do not cancel at the last minute or just not show up.

Great group of people, and this sanctuary is one of the most finely tuned and organized ones I have been to. I certainly kept busy and came home quite dirty. It was fantastic!

Cute animals but very little work to be done which was surprising..

Would anyone be willing to write an article about Green Acres and their experience at this event for the February Northwest Veg newsletter? If so, let me know or be sure to touch base with me at the event. The article would need to be written by January 25th. Thanks! =)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
