I sent out the most recent Sunday Supper invitation with an attached suggested donation of $15-20 out of concern that an equitable exchange was taking place for all of Andy's work and expenses in getting the dinner together, and am concerned that may have sent the wrong message.
Our primary goal with the Sunday Suppers is to invite people into our community to share great raw and living food and vibrant community conversation and engagement, and we never turn people away for lack of funds. Sunday Supper has been an ongoing weekly catered dinner for many years under this principle. No one profits from it, and we strive to make back our expenses for the cost of food and space rental.
Andy has assured me that expenses were covered at the last meal and that his greatest joy is in seeing a big turnout thoroughly enjoying his food. Any excess monies from that event have gone towards defraying the cost of less well-attended dinners in the past.
I have reset the requested donation for the 7/19 Thai Dinner to $10-20, and wish to reiterate that we do not turn anyone away for lack of funds. Sunday Supper remains a phenomenal opportunity for consuming gourmet raw and living food within vibrant community, and we ask simply that you pay what you can to help us meet our expenses.
The more the merrier, so please consider joining us this Sunday for Andy's Thai Dinner as well two weeks later when we feature a special menu by accomplished raw chef Lizz Bommarito!

Being Vegan is a journey in life and no two people travel it the same. So why not join and get to know a great group of people who are walking the same path. Northwest VEG generously pays for the meetup group fees, so you don't have to so be sure to support them as well! We also have a family group, Viva la Vegan - Family: http://vegan.meetup.com/492/
