Experience Authentic Connected Singing

In this fun and exercise filled workshop you will be coached each step of the way to release old blocks and habits that have blocked and restricted your singing and expression and replace them with pragmatic principles that work in harmony with body and spirit. We will be delving deeply into the BreathingRx for Singers System of exercises. Included in the coaching will be the Steinerian focus of using spiritual principles for singing. These principles use intention and directed spiritual energy to help connect you with your authentic and freely expressive self, (your soul perhaps?). Come prepared to be freed up to find a much deeper level of expression.

We will be exploring voiced sound, breath awareness/diaphragm development and directed energy intention in order to clear the physical blocks, (tension, nervousness, etc.,) to your free expression. We will accomplish this by first becoming aware of those blocks as they appear in the body and reflect in the breath cycle. After awareness of the blocks we will then learn to release them through specific movement and balance re-patterning. Then we will train the diaphragm so it does more of the work for your support. Then we will work with releasing tension in the jaw, tongue and throat. You will then be coached to integrate all these skills and releases in singing to experience a clear connection with your self unencumbered by physical tensions, worries or emotional blocks.

Because of the special amount of individual coaching during this workshop I am limiting the participation to 8. I suggest you register as soon as you can as I expect this workshop to fill quickly. Simply rsvp "yes" that you will be coming and the system will lead you through registration. Thank you in advance for your patience with the registration system. It allows me to easily administer workshops through this automated system.

Steve, thank you so much for yesterday, I got a lot out of the workshop. I will try to call you tomorrow. I'm tied up in the morning, I can call later in the day. I am running right now and will try and e-mail later. My low notes which are always hard for me, were so effortless and easy after the workshop. Really made me think. Blessings. My yoga teacher is Debera Wolk at Yoga Union for Backcare and Scoliosis. She's a great gift. She's away until the end of August.

Dear Steve I was thinking in class today that it would be really great to do a series iof sessions with the same group. have you ever considered that... maybe 4 or 6 sessions or whatever covers your core points in body voice enhancements... seems you might be able to have several class series... i am interested! let me know...Ann

Yes, I am going to do just that as a series starting probably the end of September! Thanks for the suggestion.

The thing about the workshop is that it always leaves me thinking about what I'm doing with the breathe and body, as well as what else I need to focus on to improve my singing. I got up and sang in front of the group, and it was a good thing. I'm always nervous singing in front of a group, as opposed to singing as part of a group. I have problems expressing myself that I have struggled with for years (I was told I asked to many questions as a kid, so I became mute). All of the people in the group allow me to the freedom to make progress, as well as be there to share in their experiences. Okay, I've said enough.

I'd like to come. I'm a singer and working hard on putting together a breathing technique, especially this week. Workshop sounds perfect. Am I registered as of now?

Elizabeth, it was great to have you in the workshop and see how much it meant to you to have your body and breath working FOR you. I know we can help your body get used to it quickly. I don't have your phone number so please call me when you get a chance and I can answer your question about my background and discuss a private session.the private session work. [masked]

Jen, either way is OK. I can coach you on a more detailed level if you bring sheet music as I can refer to the sheets and have you understand it better. There will probably not be an accompanist, however but you will learn a LOT. I hope to see you there, it's going to be a fun exploration!

I'd also like to know if we need to bring a song... And does that mean sheet music or something else? Sorry for the newbie questons!

Should we prepare a song to bring with us?

I might be going out to Philly, that's my birthday weekend. If not, than I will definitely be coming. I should know by the end of next week.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
