Voice & Singing Class:  TECHNIQUES & FUNDAMENTALS, Part 1

Hey, Folks!  We're pleased to announce the next of our upcoming educational events,

Voice & Singing Class:

TECHNIQUES & FUNDAMENTALS, Part 1

This class was designed to be geared towards singers with an assortment of styles, backgrounds, and proficiency levels.  Whether you consider yourself an advanced-beginner or an intermediate singer with a bit of live performance experience under your belt, or an experienced singer with a considerable amount of training to draw from, this class will cover a wide variety of subjects , and approach them in ways you may not have considered.   The class will provide a whole lot of information in a short period of time, so bring your notebooks and your audio recorders!

Topics will include:

- Proper Diaphragmatic Breathing:

* Full explanation of how it works and why its important

* How beginners can adopt it

* How more experienced singers can bring it to the next level

- Proper and efficient Warm-Up & Warm-Down techniques:

* How / why they work, with demonstration of how to get the most benefit out of them

* Why some are more efficient and beneficial than others

- Vocal resonance:

* An explanation of it why / how it works

* How to access and develop it, both initially and over time

- Performance Anxiety / Stage Fright:

* Identifying and alleviating physical tension triggers that can sabotage your performance

* Tips for working through the jitters, both preemptively, and on the spot while performing

- Vocal hygiene:

* What foods, drinks, habits, and practices are healthy or harmful for the voice, and why

My goal is to give you enough information at the end of the night, that you can go home and make significant , if not dramatic changes to the way you approach singing, and the routine with which you build your voice.  As I said, you're welcome to audio-record the class and take notes; we will ALSO be recording the class and making the mp3s available to all of you who take the class.

The class will be a discounted rate of $15 , plus a $5 studio fee ($20 in total).  The class will last for two hours .  The first hour and forty minutes (give or take) will cover the above topics in depth, and the last 15-20 minutes will be set aside for you to ask me any questions you may have about what we covered in the class, or about singing and performance in general.

There is a limited space in the class , so please make sure you know you'll be able to make it if you RSVP.  Slots will be on a first come-first serve basis , so make sure you register early if you want to ensure a spot.

We'll be starting the class promptly at 7pm , so please give yourself the time to make sure you arrive a few minutes early.

We look forward to seeing you on the 26th!  (:

it was my first vocal class, so I found it very informative.

A lot of very useful information, presented in an accessible, easily applicable way. The instructor was personable, and very knowledgeable.

I thought the meetup was great, with the exception of the fact that we were unable to get through all of the information. When you have people paying for training it is, in my opinion most important that they get the information they pay for. I would suggest that you keep the questions to a minimum during the general session..this will allow you to focus on the curriculum...then have a detailed questions and answers segment at the end if time permits....if not, each person should be able to contact you via email for follow up questions. Thanks
