Sorry, but the success of this group has forced us to put a limit to the number of members. A choir can get too large. We could however use some tenor & baritone/bass voices immediately.
*** We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7-8:30pm in Tustin. ***
If those logistics work for your, continue reading.
If you're interested regardless of vocal type (because we do have members drop out due to life things), please put in a request through the "Join Us". As spaces open up, we'll check back with you; and if you're a tenor or bass, you'll be granted access immediately!
Everyone is welcome, beginners or advanced singers. Voices of Tustin is a community choir lead by David Peay, twice awarded Teacher of the Year at Tustin Unified, and Corey Hirsch, a talented student of David's who went on to Julliard and is now a professional composer and musical director.
The group sings popular songs, songs from musicals, and just plain good sounding 4-part harmony songs. You don't need to audition. No one is going to kick you out if you are not a good singer (hey, it's a chorus, not a solo act! although there are solo opportunities with some performances). We just ask that you participate actively and regularly and make a donation to our sponsor, Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts (TACFA). (Speaking of participate--we meet in Tustin and although we don't require weekly attendance, if you foresee the commute being too taxing, please give that consideration before requesting to join).
This is a unique, stress-free, fun, and great environment to express your inner Glee or American Idol! David and Corey are so good, it's like getting free vocal and music lessons. Occasionally we get asked to perform in public events.
And don't let the number of past attendance fool you. Most of our members are not on Meetup. We average 25-30 singers each rehearsal.
