RSVP Orientation (55+ Volunteer Program)

  • July 31, 2013 · 11:00 AM
  • Shirlington Branch Library

RSVP is an invitation to serve for Northern Virginia residents age 55 and up! The program features opportunities for older adults to connect with the community, grow new skills, and tap into a lifetime of experience. Service activities include mentoring children in classrooms, supporting veterans and military families, tutoring adult ESL students, and working in local and national parks. RSVP members benefit from social and recognition events, optional transportation reimbursement, supplemental insurance while serving, and ongoing educational opportunities.

RSVP welcomes interested members to attend this one-time, one-hour orientation to learn about current volunteer opportunities, member benefits, and volunteer policies. This program is great opportunity to meet others age 55+ who share your same passion for community service!

Hello I am able to come however I may need to leave a little early, possibly at 1:30/1:45 just because I have work later on and need time to get ready. I will make sure I am there right at 11 or possibly even earlier.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
