Running the Loop in in preparation for the Tomoka Marathon in 3 weeks!!
The Loop is 22 1/2 miles if you complete the entire thing or...this can be a beautiful run for 9 miles, 12 or 15! We also need 8-10 volunteers to make this a successful and safe run for everyone.
The ultimate long run or a great training run for 9-?? miles or whatever distance you care for!
Have you heard of the Ormond Scenic Loop? From the Save the Loop Foundation:
“The Loop is a 23-mile stretch of roadway through a landscape and ecosystem that is uniquely Floridian. This rare and beautiful patch of Old Florida is prized by cyclists, bikers, and runners, as well as by visitors and residents in Volusia County.”
We will start at the Granada Bridge, Fortunato Park, at 6:00am.
We will need volunteers again to help the runners stay hydrated, motivated and even carpool those back to the start that do not wish to run the full 22 1/2 mile loop.
We will supply our volunteers with water, Gatorade and energy gels to hand out to the runners. The volunteers are key to this loop! We thank you in advance for helping out!
How do you know if you are ready to take on this adventure? Have you run at least an 8-10 mile long run in the past month? It is important to note this is not a race and our volunteers will take you back if you feel you are not ready to complete the entire distance. This is a slow, steady, enjoyable run. No pressure, no clocks, just running in the peacefulness of Old Florida Beauty!
Again, we need volunteers to cheer along the way and provide water and Swag vehicles. We welcome your involvement in any capacity!
Join us for a gorgeous Florida Loop!
Run with you soon!
