Hi Midge. Thank you for asking.
We had a lovely cruise down the Intracoastal Waterway and fueled up the Vŏnē Research vessel. When we arrived at the Hillsboro Inlet, we watched one dive boat turn around and abort their planned activities due to the very rough seas. We then observed the Sweet Emily fishing charter exit the inlet and brave the ocean. The waves were so large that she disappeared while in a gully and when she surfaced we could see her bottom paint. At that point, Stephen and Robert decided not to attempt the diving plans because of the treacherous conditions and the potential difficulty of reentering the inlet. We heard later that a dive boat broached on the way in and lost gear. We rescheduled the dive for this Sunday.
