OUR FLORIDA REEFS is a community planning process for southeast Florida’s coral reefs and is funded by a state and federal partnership between the Coral Reef Conservation Programs of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Hosted by the Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative (SEFCRI), these meetings will bring together the community of divers, local residents, business owners, visitors and the broader public in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Martin counties to discuss the future of coral reefs in this region. The goal is to increase public involvement in a comprehensive management strategy to ensure healthy coral reefs for the future.
At each meeting, there will be an overview of the Our Florida Reefs Community Planning Process and an Open House with interactive kiosks on Habitat & Coral, Water & Fish, People & Management, and Ecosystem. Light refreshments will be served. Please note there are two identical sessions, the first being held from 2 to 4 PM, and the second one from 6 to 8 PM.
