These events are dedicated to the many chefs who have shaped our culture and our palates. In these "Chef Spotlight Dinners" a specific chef is highlighted where attendees prepare a recipe created by the chef and bring it to share potluck style. During the event, we can discuss our thoughts on the chef, their cooking style/cuisine and the recipes prepared.

From these events, you'll take away a better sense of who these chefs were and how they have contributed to the culinary world - not to mention the recipes and a full belly!

In honor of Taste of Chicago happening this month, let's create dishes of local chefs who put Chicago on the culinary map. Some of our very own include:

Rick Bayless
Charlie Trotter
Gale Gand

With your RSVP, please update the dish you will be bringing. Note - this dish must be made from recipes by Rick Bayless, Charlie Trotter and/or Gale Gand.

I just saw this link that shows where some Chicago chefs (including Bayless) get cheap eats. Charlie Trotter must not go slumming; since he's not listed... http://www.timeout.com/chic...

Who attended?

  • 11 attendees
    • Ann (+1 guest)
the most fun I've had in a long time
    • Joelen (+1 guest)
Aside from the wonderful array of Chicago inspired dishes, we had a fabulous time testing our foodie knowledge over lots of wine and laughs! Thanks to all that attended!
    •  Another wonderful, cozy dinner. Thanks Joelen! Dinner was so wonderful that the bitter taste from the hot dog/sausage ruling didn't linger (also because the good guys won in the end!).
    •  Another great event with Joelen and Louis!!!!!!!! Robert
    •  So much fun!
    •  for the record: Wikpedia definition A hot dog is a type of fully-cooked, cured and/or smoked moist sausage of soft, even, texture and flavor
