Flipping on the radio dial during my evening commute, around 1999. Joe Frank hooked me, Ken & Andy were great too. Also loved the Alan Watts lectures.
So many great shows. Current favorites: Put the Needle on the Record, Sinner's Crossroads, Downtown Soulville, Coffee Break for Heroes & Villains, Dave the Spazz, and archive favorites in Mr. C and Radio Thriftshop.
The variety of music and points of view is great. But it's more than that, it's the personality of the DJ's and the handcrafted touch that comes through, as compared to a gigantic shuffled personal library or streaming automated randomness.
