WELCOME TO WCBC! Wine Country and Beach Cities Writers’ Network is the hip, new place to read and workshop your writing and be part of an exciting community of writers and artists. We bring together an eclectic group of new and established writers from across the Riverside and San Diego County areas to read their work and socialize among a wider circle of friends. All levels and genres. From beautiful wine country Temecula and the sparkling North San Diego County beaches, welcome!
WHAT WE OFFER: 1. Read and Respond. Join us every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in a safe and supportive environment to read and respond among Riverside and San Diego County writers. Get feedback from peers and published authors. Bring 2-5 pages, several copies (5-10 is usually sufficient, depending on attendance). You don’t have to read every week or submit writing in advance.
2. Weekend Writing Workshop. Get your work published! Join us every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Lisa Sanchez's Lake House to work on your short fiction, creative non-fiction, or poetry for publication. We start with a short discussion of craft and group writing exercise to get the creative juices flowing, then we break off and work individually with people in editing and shaping their work. There is a $5 charge for this workshop.
3. Lake House Salon and Social. Meet writers, artists, and musicians from Riverside and San Diego County. Join our merry band at Harveston Lake for barbecue/potluck, music, and friendship. Salon to be held as announced.
4. Lake House Workshops. Learn from the best! We bring in best-selling authors, industry experts, artists, and university-level instructors for hands-on, small group workshops in the inspirational setting of Harveston Lake. Don’t miss this great opportunity! Saturday or Sunday as announced. Price varies.

Weekend Writing Workshop: Every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake House, 28900 Lakefront Rd.
TO JOIN: Just introduce yourself via meetup and show up. Please RSVP. If you forget to RSVP, you can still come, but letting us know you're coming helps us accommodate everyone. Length of readings vary from 2 - 5 pages a week, double spaced, 12 point font.
Cost: The weekly Read and Respond Group is free! Just bring your fabulous selves. Bring snacks or wine/drinks to share if you wish. We do accept donations to help pay for the cost of maintaining the meet-up site, but they are not required. We don’t want affordability to deter any writer from working with our group!
With Weekend Writing Workshop you get a discussion on writing craft techniques, feedback from published writers, editorial advice, and a space to write in the inspirational lake front setting at Harveston Lake. The format is the same as any professional workshop. Just bring your notebook or computer, your questions, and a beach towel or chair if you want to spend time outside. The cost is $5 per workshop.
The Lake House workshops are an opportunity for local writers to get hands on, up-close instruction and feedback from experienced and published authors. Price varies and will be announced prior to each workshop.
