Model Based Quantity TakeOff

Model based quantity takeoff (QTO) is one of those primary advantages to using building information modeling (BIM) for your projects.  There are many methods and tools for extracting quantities from BIM models, but while estimators are warming up to relying more heavily on model-based quantities, 2D takeoff is still the norm.

We'll provide an overview of these methods of model-based takeoff utilizing such tools as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Design Review, On-Screen, Assemble and Bluebeam Revu.  Through practice of these methods, hopefully you will each become more comfortable with the process recognize the value and start to utilize this workflow to identify quantities for all of your estimates.

Food provided will be DiBellas subs.  There is a $5.00 fee only for those requesting food.  Otherwise the session is free.

Great conversation over use of 3d models used for QTO. I was very pleased with the open discussion and direction of the conversation.

I use Revit to generate schedules for my buyouts and ordering. This should be a very interesting topic!
