WOW is all about single, widowed, divorced or separated people meeting up, making new friends and enjoying what the Great British countryside has to offer.

Have you ever driven past a village sign post, or footpath sign and wondered where it leads to? WOW's walks are a voyage of discovery, visiting new places and enjoying what our famous British pubs have to offer.

Our walks are usually in and around West Oxfordshire, but we do travel into the surrounding Counties on occasions, so I do try to encourage car sharing where possible. If you a car driver and willing to offer lifts or need one, just put up a note on the appropriate walk when you RSVP.

If you wish to come along and just give us a try out, then you are more than welcome to join in with Andrew, Kate and Tracey for some wonderful walking.

This group does not have members insurance so if you have a medical problem please take out your own insurance to cover you on the walks.

This note is really for people who are new to Meetup and have concerns over privacy on the internet.


Profile name
As Google and other search engines trawl the Meetup pages regularly, having a profile of your full name will mean that the Meetup group pages you are a member of will turn up quite high on the search results for anyone using your full name as a search term.

As a result, you will see most members either use their first name, or a nickname, or their first name with the first letter of their surname where there are a number of people with the same profile name.

To change your profile name:
Use the "Account" option at the very top of the Meetup page and then click on "Edit"
option next to your name and change it there.


Greetings
It is very easy, and very welcome, to send and receive Greetings in a group. However, be aware that the Greeting will get posted on the Activity section on the groups home page which everyone can see. Therefore, if you need to exchange information that you don't want to be seen by others other then by the intended party, such as when sending mobile phone numbers, then use the "Send email" option that you will find a little way down below the picture on someone's profile.
