Planning, Publishing & Promoting Content with WordPress [Intermediate]

Group Discussion: Planning, Publishing, and Promoting Content with WordPress Plugins

Our discussion this month will focus on working with content in WordPress.

Have some favourite plugins or tools that you'd like to share? Have content-related questions that you need help with? This is the meetup for you!

Showcase Presentation: Kyle Newsome & Postcard for WordPress

Kyle Newsome is a Web and Mobile Software Developer living in Toronto.

In February 2014, Kyle released Postcard, a WordPress plugin and companion mobile app designed to allow users share social content to all their favourite networks and also treat their own websites like personal social networks.

Postcard is currently available for iOS only and more platform support is underway. More information on the plugin and app are available at

Where are we meeting?

Ryerson Digital Media Zone at 10 Dundas Street East (opposite Yonge Dundas Square). Underground parking available at Dundas Square.

Meet Andy on the ground floor outside the elevators adjacent to Starbucks. He'll check your name off the list and take you up to the DMZ.

Yes. Thanks Kyle for your presentation about your plugin. It was very tantalizing.

Thanks, too, to Andy. I have to admit I had no idea Jetpack offered so much. Great presentation on content planning, publishing and promoting.

I had a great time as well. Thanks @Andy for mentioning CoSchedule and Jetpack Publicize. Wasn't aware of these products before yesterday.

I found the meetup fabulous. Kyle had a very interesting plugin and presented well. Andy's session of content was excellent (as always) with a good number of takeaways. Great participation from the audience.

The following message was just sent to all RSVP'ers. I'm posting it here as well just in case you didn't receive it.

    Hi everyone!

The DMZ has restricted access on the weekends. Here's how you get in:

    - Meet me (Andy) near the elevators on the main floor, next to Starbucks.
    - I'll use my key to get you to the 6th floor.
    - Someone will be waiting on the 6th to let you into the room we're using.

I'll be standing outside the elevators from 1:30 until 2:15 with the RSVP list. Only those whose names are on the list will be let in.

If you arrive late, email me ([masked]) and we'll come get you.

It has been a while since I last attended a meetup. I am looking for WP dev skills to help ease my workload.

Hello Don, looking forward to meeting (again? - can't recall!). Lot's of good devs in this meetup group to help & if you'd like my company's help, LMK ([masked]).
