Organizing meetup #2 - Getting down to business :)

Hello everyone!

Our kick-off org meeting was fabulous - great turn out & great participation from everyone.

To fill you in, check out our meeting minutes.

You can also check out a publically readable Google drive folder we're using to help with organization.

Our next organizer meetup:

Some of the most immediately identified next steps are already underway (Scaling WordPress meetup tomorrow, some PM stuff by Jordan, contrib2core gears starting to turn) - thanks to all that are helping.

And for our next organizer meeting, we'd like to map out the next 3 months of meetups & get our roles & responsibilities going.

Venue

UPDATE: We'll be meeting at the Ryerson Digital Media Zone, 3rd floor of 10 Dundas Street East (opposite Dundas Square).

Take the escalators to the 3rd floor. We'll have a volunteer waiting at the door to escort you to the meeting room. Only names on the RSVP list will be allowed in.

It looks like you have a robust group and a waiting list, so I will give up my position to someone else.

    Hello Meetup friends,

I have a question regarding a very slight amendment that I had noticed to my website www.canadaresidence.ca yesterday when I made a slight amendment to my contact phone number on my contact page.

If you now go over the navigation bar there seems to be a backdrop behind each of the drop downs which does not look very professional and the background (for ex. Behind the “Housing Services” tab actual makes the “homestay rentals” into 2 separate links?

Due to my lack of Wordpress experience I do not want to make any guesses and disturb the website which otherwise works fine and looks clean.

Can you please assist me on how to easily fix this problem.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Hello Chris. For help, try posting to our help wanted forum over here: http://wptoronto.com/...

If you have a budget, let people know.

If you are just generally looking for some free advice from fellow community members, that's fine as well - you may have better luck coming out to one of our "working session" meetups (where people come & generally work on their websites & help eachother out - we don't have any scheduled at the moment though... :P).

And finally - "Homestay" and "Rentals" do seem like two menu items - Try reviewing your menus (In your admin under APPEARANCE, MENUS)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
